Ultra Electronics Airport Systems (UEAS) will be delivering and integrating an Airport Management System (AMS) at the Belo Horizonte (BH) International Airport in Brazil.
The airport will be able to provide real-time information management with the software that will help in optimising its decision-making process, facilitating operational excellence and doubling its passenger numbers from the current 10 to 20 million annually.
UEAS said in a statement that the system would help the airport fully realise the benefits of the new terminal that will be opened in 2016. It will also lead to maximising the airport’s return on the R$1.5bn that is being invested in implementing technologies and processes to enhance flight operations and systems integration.
BH Airport IT manager Andre Costa said: "BH Airport is growing rapidly and we require systems that can be readily adapted to our needs and simplifies intersystem communications by ensuring that all systems are speaking the same language.
"Ultra’s solution will enable us to better partner with our airlines and other stakeholders for operational excellence."
The AMS will include an Airport Operational Database (AODB), a Flight/Data Display System and a Resource Management System that will come integrated with a variety of other operational and information systems.
