Boeing Vancouver is set to open a new laboratory to develop data analytics-driven software solutions.
Located in downtown Vancouver, British Columbia (BC), Canada, the new Vancouver Labs will supplement Boeing’s facilities in Richmond, BC, and are designed as an open concept space to increase collaboration and creativity among multi-disciplined teams with skills in UI/UX design, data science, consulting, and Agile software-development.
The Richmond facility currently employs more than 200 software engineers and data scientists.
Once completed, the new Vancouver Labs will develop solutions to help airlines and other aircraft operators to increase their efficiencies and reduce business costs.
To be developed in consultation with Boeing’s global customer, the new solutions aim to use data science insights and reduce traditional enterprise development cycles.
Formerly known as AeroInfo, Boeing Vancouver will relocate to the new facility in September.

By GlobalDataBoeing Vancouver president Bob Cantwell said: “The expansion represents a natural extension of Boeing Vancouver’s analytics, software development and professional consulting work.
“As one of the largest analytics groups within Boeing, we are well-suited to house the new Vancouver Labs, which will focus on delivering data-driven solutions at a rapidly increased pace over traditional development.”
The expansion will also create new jobs and boost partnerships between Boeing and other technology companies and academic institutions across Canada.
Last year, the then Boeing Canada-AeroInfo entered into a deal with Brazilian airline GOL Linhas Aereas Inteligentes to implement the Boeing Fuel Dashboard solution across its 737 fleet.
