Boeing has entered a new agreement with French industrial software group Dassault Systèmes to extend the use of the latter’s 3DEXPERIENCE platform to promote digitalisation of its production system.
The 30-year $1bn contract can be renewed in every ten years, reported Le Figaro newspaper, which is owned by Dassault Group.
Under the deal, Boeing will deploy products developed with the 3DEXPERIENCE platform across its commercial aviation, space and defence programmes.
The manufacturer will also benefit from the platform’s Winning Programme, Co-Design to Target, Ready for Rate, Build to Operate and License to Fly solutions.
The 3DEXPERIENCE platform will further help Boeing to improve its end-to-end digital collaboration, design, engineering, analysis, manufacturing planning and shop floor execution capabilities.
Dassault Systèmes vice-chairman and CEO Bernard Charlès said: “The parallel exchange of data between virtual and real operations will transform the value-adding chain into a value creation chain.
