Boeing 787 airplane development vice-president Ken Sanger said: "With the 787-10, we are building upon our experience and the 787-9 design itself to create this newest member of the super-efficient 787 family."

Boeing builds its 787 in three different production lines, which includes two in Everett, including a temporary surge line and one in South Carolina.

The combined production system currently manufactures ten airplanes a month.

The company announced from next year, it will raise the production of 787s to 12 planes and 14 per month by the end of the decade.
