BOC

Singapore-based aircraft leasing company BOC Aviation has placed an order for 30 of the A320 family aircraft, including 18 A320neos and 12 A320ceos to Airbus.

With the order, BOC, a company owned by the Bank of China, aims to meet the demands of its customers.

The company did not disclose the financial value of the order.

BOC CEO Robert Martin said: "This order underscores our continued confidence in the reliability and operational efficiency of the A320 family aircraft, and reflects its popularity among our customers for short and medium-haul routes."

The latest order has brought BOC’s order for new Airbus aircraft to a total of 306.

BOC’s total order with Airbus includes 12 A330s and 294 A320 aircraft, including the 64neo variant. The company owns 270 aircraft and manages aircraft for 62 airlines worldwide in 30 countries.

By the end of 2015, BOC had committed to buy 241 aircraft.

Airbus customers chief operating officer John Leahy said: "BOC Aviation is a leading lessor based in a fast growing part of the world, and its latest order not only demonstrates its continued confidence in our product for its airline customers, but recognises the A320 as a sound financial asset in its portfolio.

"We appreciate the mutually beneficial and strong relationship we have built with BOC Aviation over the past 20 years.

"With this order, BOC Aviation becomes one of Airbus’ top ten customers."

Airbus received 12,300 orders for its single-aisle A320 family of aircraft and delivered more than 6,800 to over 400 customers and operators globally.

The company also received 4,400 orders for A320neo family aircraft from nearly 80 customers since its launch in 2010.
