South Australia’s Adelaide Airport has partnered with IT solution provider Amadeus to launch Australasia’s first fully automated airport management system.
In a bid to enhance its airport operations, Adelaide Airport intends to replace its major operational IT systems with Amadeus' automated and scalable aeronautical airport data management systems.
These advanced Amadeus systems are the first cloud-hosted solutions in Australasia. The collaboration places Adelaide Airport as a leader in airport operational data management, allowing the airport to improve its passenger satisfaction levels.
With the deployment of the new cloud-based technology, Adelaide Airport will be able to manage its boarding gates, check-in desks, aircraft parking and customer information, in addition to other mission-critical airport terminal services.
Under the terms of the current agreement, Amadeus will integrate the South Australian airport with three of its airport solutions, flight information display system, airport operational database and airport fixed resource management solution.
Adelaide Airport Customer Service executive general manager David Blackwell said: “Amadeus’ suite of airport management solutions guarantee the necessary optimisation capabilities for Adelaide Airport to not only manage operations from day one in our existing terminal, but also to continually enhance and evolve operations in line with our needs and growth plans.”
With the new airport management system, the airport will be able to access high-quality cloud-based data, manage and allocate major resources without operator intervention, and swiftly test several terminal development solutions.
Adelaide Airport will also be able to offer precise flight, gate and baggage belt information throughout the terminal.
