Airbus, in collaboration with SITA, has launched new Security Operations Center Services for the air transport industry.

Developed to meet the increasing demand for cyber-security in this industry, the new initiative aims to offer air transport industry players with immediate detection and remedial action services.

The new Security Operations Center Services is the first of a new portfolio of cyber-security products and services being developed by SITA.

SITA chief executive officer Barbara Dalibard said: “As an industry we need to move faster in developing new cyber-security solutions that mitigate the risk of ever-changing threats.

“This requires constant collaboration and innovation. With SITA and Airbus CyberSecurity uniquely placed at the heart of the air transport industry, we can facilitate innovation and information-sharing through services such as the Security Operations Center Service, providing solutions our customers demand and need.”

The two companies have joined forces to use their expertise in detecting several cyber activities that are relevant to airlines and airports.

“Our standard solution mainly combines real-time monitoring services for applications and communications dedicated to air transport and incident response services."

Airlines, airports and other air transport industry stakeholders will be provided with information about unusual cyber activity that might adversely affect their businesses.

The joint Security Operations Center Services will also offer appropriate containment and remedial action, ensuring that an air transport company’s digital assets are safe from cyber-attack.

Airbus CyberSecurity head François Lavaste said: “Air transport is part of the Airbus DNA, so it was only natural that we joined forces with SITA to adapt our innovative cyber-security solutions to this new service area, which is experiencing exponential growth.
