Airbus Defence and Space has partnered with Altair to integrate its STRENGTH2000 solution with the latter’s HyperWorks platform, to offer users with airframe structural analysis and verification capabilities.

STRENGTH2000 is Airbus Defence and Space-developed proprietary tool for certification of aircraft, including the Eurofighter and components of the A400M, A380, and other civil aircraft.

Through the Altair Partner Alliance (APA), the companies will provide HyperWorks users with access to STRENGTH2000’s capabilities to analyse metallic and composite aircraft structures and generate stress reports for certification purposes.

While providing traceable workflows for strength and stability analysis, the software also facilitates fast sizing studies, check stress and qualification tasks.

Airbus Defence and Space senior expert Gerd Schuhmacher said: "Our software will be very useful for aerospace stress engineers in the Altair community.

The STRENGTH2000 brings together capabilities for airframe development and in-service support, including validated analysis methods, geometry data (CATIA), finite element results, material data, internal loads analysis, and a graphical user interface.

The software’s framework is designed to support proprietary in-house methods as well.

Altair’s HyperWorks platform incorporates a licensing model that provides users with access to a wide range of Altair-developed and third-party software applications.

The APA extends the HyperWorks platform from over 20 internally developed solutions to 60 applications.
