Air Medical Group (AMGH) has signed a deal with Textron’s subsidiary Bell Helicopter to purchase 20 Bell 206L-4 rotorcraft.

Deliveries are slated to commence in 2014 and continue through 2017.

A subsidiary of AMGH, Air Evac EMS is an independently owned and operated membership-supported air medical service in the US with 115 air medical bases across 15 states.

It operates Air Evac Lifeteam and has a fleet of more than 130 medically equipped Bell 206 Long Ranger helicopters, as well as additional Bell 407 helicopters.

Air Evac EMS president Seth Myers said: "These new aircraft will serve as replacements for older aircraft in service, as well as provide for growth of the service area.

"We appreciate the quality aircraft, service and support Bell Helicopter has provided us over the years and look forward to continuing to offer a variety of Bell products to our customers."

With accommodation for seven people and more than 2,000lb of load, the Bell 206L-4 plays role of a multi-mission capable helicopter, while providing low operating costs to operators.

It delivers mission flexibility and offers superior visibility for tough scene landings with large cabin windows and wrap-around windows for pilots.

The Bell 206L-4 is supported by a global network with a various product and service offerings, including maintenance, repair and overhaul, blade repair, and customization.
