Exova’s Singaporean soil testing service unit Admaterials Technologies has been contracted to carry out earthwork testing for the Changi East Development at Singapore’s Changi Airport.

Under the terms of the deal, Admaterials Technologies will be responsible for handling standard laboratory, grading, compaction and classification earthworks testing, as well as carrying out plate loading, field density and swell testing.

The contract also includes California Bearing Ratio (CBR) tests, which are used to determine the effectiveness of compaction on soil materials that will be used for the proposed road construction.

Changi East Development’s earthwork testing will be carried both out on-site at Changi Airport and in the specialised laboratory of Exova in Singapore.

"We’re excited to work on such a major project that will undoubtedly shape the future aviation landscape of Singapore."

Admaterials Technologies managing director Lu Jinping said: “Changi Airport is already one of the largest transportation hubs in Southeast Asia.

“The Changi East Development, including the planning of Terminal Five, will vastly increase handling capacity and we’re excited to work on such a major project that will undoubtedly shape the future aviation landscape of Singapore.
