Hillsborough County Aviation Authority (HCAA) in Florida, US, has contracted Michael Baker International, for its engineering and architecture services to four airports in the Tampa area.

Under the $15.1m contract, Michael Baker’s team will offer engineering and architecture services to Tampa International, Peter O. Knight, Plant City and Tampa Executive Airports, which HCAA operates.

The contract will run through 30 November 2027.

Michael Baker has agreed to provide continuing general consulting services and assist HCAA with capital improvement project development and cost estimation.

Michael Baker also provides airport, civil, architecture, mechanical and electrical services, as well as electronic systems engineering.

The contract scope also covers other services such as communications/IT system design, fire protection and structural engineering, as well as surveying and geotechnical engineering.

It will also be responsible for providing traffic engineering, pavement and facility inspections, along with construction administration services.

Last July, Tampa International Airport installed biometric screening at some of its departure gates to enhance safety and efficiency during boarding.
