AAR has signed a multimillion-dollar agreement with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Aero Engines Ltd (MHIAEL) to supply parts for MHIAEL’s PW4000 aircraft engine.

Under the service contract, AAR will provide components for the maintenance of MHIAEL’s PW4000 94in fan engines.

The company will also be responsible for delivering solutions for engine technological platforms from original equipment manufacturers such as Unison and Eaton.

The agreement follows after the Japanese Civil Aviation Bureau (JCAB) awarded certification to AAR. This certification permits the company to cater to airlines in the Japanese market.

AAR Parts Supply SVP Sal Marino said: “MHIAEL is a key player in the Japanese and global aviation market, and this agreement is AAR’s first parts supply deal with an engine MRO company in the region and our largest contract in Japan.

“AAR is certified compliant with Japanese regulations, and we have the global capabilities and facilities to serve Japan-based customers wherever they do business. We’re very excited for what’s to come with this partnership and our plans in the Japanese market.”
