Menzies Aviation and AGS Handling have joined forces to deliver ground services at three airports in Italy.
Under the partnership, the companies will serve Bergamo Orio al Serio (BGY), Milan Malpensa (MXP) and Verona Villafranca (VRN) airports.
The alliance secured a five-year contract to offer ground services to easyJet at MXP.
Menzies Aviation Europe executive vice-president Miguel Gomez-Sjunnesson said: “We’re excited about the opportunity to expand our footprint with EasyJet and support them at one of their key hubs in Europe.
“We look forward to delivering best-in-class service and solutions together with our partner AGS Handling while also supporting our teams to reach their full potential by providing industry-leading training and development.
“This latest win builds on our long-standing partnership with easyJet and means we will provide support to EasyJet flights at their three largest hubs, Milan, London Gatwick and London Luton.”
Beginning March next year, the partnership will be responsible for providing passenger and ramp services to 24,500 EasyJet flights annually.
Menzies has been serving EasyJet for more than 15 years.
It has been offering passenger, ramp, cabin cleaning and de-icing services for the air carrier across 22 European airports.
The tie-up between Menzies and AGS is expected to create new employment opportunities at MXP.
AGS Handling general manager Davide Mandaresu said: “Our partnership with Menzies is of important strategic value to our Group.
“This agreement will allow us to expand our customer base and give further impetus to our strategic development plan in Italy and bring our People new opportunities for growth.
“As a world leader in aviation services, Menzies’ proven leadership, safety standards and best practices will enhance the quality of services in Milan and other airports where we operate.”
Earlier this month, Menzies Aviation extended its partnership with South African budget airline FlySafair.
