Velana International Airport in the Maldives has successfully implemented Amadeus’ airport management solutions to better handle the anticipated passenger traffic growth and to future-proof its business.
As part of the project, Amadeus has implemented its Airport Operational Database (AODB) in order to host, manage and disseminate complex flight-related information at the airport.

The Amadeus AODB offers complete visibility of flight schedules up to 365 days ahead to help the airport accurately forecast its passenger and baggage demand.
In addition, Velana Airport has deployed the company’s Airport Fixed Resource Management Solution (RMS), which enables the airport to determine the best resource allocation against its flight schedule.
The two Amadeus solutions will allow the airport to accurately plan an optimised management of its resources far in advance.

The technologies will also allow the airport to make data-driven decisions for precise resource allocation, resulting in better slot adherence and enhanced on-time performance.
The new solutions will also help reduce delays, minimise costs, optimise revenues and enhance operational efficiency at the airport.
Amadeus is currently working with Velana Airport to incorporate additional airport management solutions throughout its digital transformation programme.
