The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) has established a sponsorship partnership with Turkey’s Istanbul Airport (IGA)’s premium passenger programme iGA PASS for the national Turkish women’s and men’s football teams.

The airport will provide “a uniquely special reception” for the Turkish National women’s and men’s football teams when they arrive at the airport, “accompanied by the exclusive privileges of the iGA PASS,” the company said.

The iGA Pass is an exclusive passenger programme offering services such as sleep pods and baggage wraps.

According to Istanbul Airport, this agreement will prove its commitment to “social responsibility and sports”.

Founded in 1923, the Turkish Football Federation oversees the management of the national football teams, the Turkish leagues and the Turkish Cup.

This agreement is an extension on a previous “service sponsor” between the TFF and iGA Pass in 2021.

Selahattin Bilgen, Acting CEO of iGA Istanbul Airport emphasised the importance of football in the region.

Bilgen said: “Turkish football has an important position in the world. iGA Istanbul Airport is among the world’s top airports. In this respect, it is very important for us that two such strong organizations come together.

“I believe that the strong synergy arising from this collaboration will add value to both iGA and Turkish football. As iGA Istanbul Airport, I hope that our collaboration will be beneficial for both our country and Turkish football”.

Although the iGA PASS will not feature on the national team kits, the partnership will feature collaboration on the sale of the TFF’s new Euro 2024 kits, available in store at Istanbul Airport.

The TFF is set to co-organise the 2032 UEFA European Championship with Italy.

According to the TFF, this is down to its “modern” facilities and Turkey’s “top tier airports”.

Mehmet Büyükekşi, President of the Turkish Football Federation, highlighted how the partnership would extend to the national youth teams.

Büyükekşi said: “By becoming one of our official sponsors, iGA Pass is now adding more strength to our family. In addition to catering to our senior men’s and women’s national teams, iGA Pass will also offer its services to our national youth teams.

“They will be there to assist our national players with all their needs from welcoming them at events to facilitating transfers when they travel for games. Through this meaningful partnership, I extend my hopes for iGA Istanbul Airport and the iGA Pass brand to bring prosperity to all our national teams.”
