Chinese technology firm Huawei has launched its Smart Airport 2.0 Solution that provides airports with a one-stop information and communication technologies (ICT) platform featuring cloud-pipe-device collaboration.
The solution, which was rolled out at CEBIT 2018 in Hannover, Germany, covers aspects such as visualised operational processes, safety, services, and airport IoT.

Huawei stated that the new Smart Airport 2.0 Solution focuses more on technology connection among intelligent video surveillance, Big Data and Artificial Intelligence (AI), and the Internet of Things (IoT).
The linkages facilitate data communication among numerous vertical business systems at airports and helps to drive intelligent airport operations, speed up security responses and offers convenient and comfortable passenger experiences.

Huawei’s Smart Airport 2.0 Solution allows airports to deploy the smart allocation of aircraft stands, smart navigation lighting, and visualised ground handling, which aims to improve operating efficiency and reduce flight turnaround time.
Furthermore, the IoT-based smart navigation solution can monitor and control navigation lights in real-time and helps to slash manual inspection costs by over 10,000 hours per person annually.
