Eve co-CEO Andre Stein explained how the partnership builds on a previous 2021 MoU agreement aimed at developing eVTOL operations in Scandinavia and how this LOI reinforces this commitment: “This additional LOI reinforces our commitment to introducing sustainable, safe and affordable urban air travel to the region.

“Together, we will drive this transformation and pave the way for a more accessible transportation ecosystem for Scandinavian communities.”

The agreement includes the deployment of Eve’s Urban Air Traffic Management (Urban ATM) software system, up to 50 eVTOLs and a service and operating solutions package.

Eve’s Urban ATM solution provides specialised solutions such as vertiport automation system integration, vertiport resource availability management, flight planning, and coordination services.

Widerøe Zero AS CEO Andreas Aks said the new mode of air transport would become available for customers by 2027.

Aks said: “We are looking forward to an even closer collaboration with Eve in the years to come. From designing optimal customer journeys in our Mobility Labs to defining the future Concept of Operation and in 2027, putting the first Eve vehicles into revenue service.”

The cooperation on the Air Mobility Labs project across Norway is a significant highlight of the expanded alliance.

According to Eve, thorough knowledge of the potential customer journey and fresh air mobility options will be made possible by the project, which will guide the development of future air mobility ideas customised to regional requirements.

Eve has recently signed three LOIs for the sale of 150 eVTOL aircraft with Voar Aviation, Widerøe Zero and Nordic Aviation, expanding their order book to 2,850.

Voar Aviation, a general aviation service provider located in Sao Paulo, Brazil, signed an LOI to acquire 70 Eve eVTOL aircraft, which the company plans to operate in various locations around Brazil.

Voar CEO Alessandra Abrão told Airport Technology: “This partnership reinforces that Voar is ready to open the doors to future air mobility and contribute the necessary infrastructure to the operation of this new way of transportation.”

Additionally, Nordic Aviation Capital (NAC), a global aircraft leasing corporation, signed an LOI to acquire up to 30 Eve aircraft.

According to Eve, the Copenhagen-based aircraft lessor has placed a firm order for 15 aircraft, with the option of purchasing 15 further units to lease to operators and said: “NAC plays a key role in the development, expansion and success of the eVTOL and Urban Air Mobility industry by providing financing, risk management and industry expertise in additional markets across the world.”
