Elite Line Services (ELS) has secured a new four-year contract to manage the newly commissioned Daifuku Jervis B Webb In-Line Baggage Handling System at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE) in Ohio, US.

The scope of the contract includes complete operations and maintenance responsibility for the new In-Line Baggage Handling System.

ELS will operate and maintain 5,500 linear feet of conveyor, 11 claim units, 421 drives, 100 power turns, 12 high-speed diverters and six makeup units. In addition, the company will perform operational responsibilities for control room monitoring, manual encoding and jam clearing at the airport.

Furthermore, ELS will maintain 31 of Daifuku’s Mobile Inspection Tables (MITs) that are developed to improve the efficiency and ergonomics in the TSA Checked Baggage Resolution Area (CBRA).

“The scope of the contract includes complete operations and maintenance responsibility for the new In-Line Baggage Handling System.”

ELS COO Ian Charters said: “ELS is excited by the opportunity to extend its market-leading O&M services at the birthplace of aviation, and looks forward to building a close working relationship with the airlines and the airport.

“The new CLE programme adds to the company’s substantial 2017 airport business expansion and we consider this as further evidence that the quality and consistency of our maintenance programs better position us to meet the needs of our customers.”

The new contract is ELS’s third airport service contract this year.

In October, the company received an operation and maintenance services contract for the In-line Baggage Handling System and Passenger Boarding Bridges at the Pensacola International Airport in Florida.

ELS is a subsidiary wholly owned by Daifuku North America Holding Company.
