Vanderlande has agreed to help improve the baggage handling process at Rotterdam The Hague Airport (RTHA).
Vanderlande will install its FLEET future-proofing baggage logistics solution to enhance baggage handling operation at RTHA. It is based on autonomous vehicle technology.
The FLEET solution is expected to be launched in September. The company is a logistic process automation services provider based in the Netherlands.
Qatar Airways and Iberia have agreed to expand their codeshare partnership to provide their customers with increased connectivity.
Pursuant to the expanded codeshare agreement, Qatar Airways will expand access to destinations in Latin America, including Brazil, Colombia, Uruguay, and Panama. Iberia will expand its services to destinations across the Middle East and Asia.
The deal will also offer benefits to the members of both the airlines’ frequent flyer programmes, Qatar Airways Privilege Club and Iberia Plus.
Hungarian air navigation service provider HungaroControl and UK-based NATS have entered a deal to partner on digital tower projects globally.
The partners will jointly develop digital air traffic control tower technology to help increase operational flexibility and aviation safety.
HungaroControl installed a digital tower solution at Budapest Airport in 2017, while NATS setup its first digital tower at London City Airport in the same year.
A joint venture between Orascom Construction Limited and Al Sahraa Group has received a $180m contract to carry out expansion work at Fujairah International Airport in the UAE.
The scope of the work includes construction of a new air traffic control tower, expansion of the existing runway, as well as construction of a new emergency runway, rapid exit taxiways and other key infrastructure.
