RW Block Consulting has secured a contract from Allegheny County Airport Authority (ACAA) to provide management consulting services to the $1.1bn terminal project at Pittsburgh International Airport until July 2023.

The airport redevelopment plan includes construction of a new landside building between terminals C and D and a six-storey parking garage, as well as cutting the number of airport gates from 75 to 51.

Construction on the Pittsburgh airport’s new terminal is scheduled to start in 2019.

Austin Commercial has received a $336.5m contract from Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) to provide design and construction services for a terminal expansion project at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).

Austin will design and construct seven new structures to enable the movement between nine passenger terminals and automated people mover stations.

The new additions will also house office spaces, baggage claim areas, airport lounges, and other facilities.

Construction of the new facilities is scheduled to be completed by 2021.

Russia’s Travel Retail Domodedovo has received a duty-free operator contract for the Domodedovo Airport in Moscow.

The company will operate and manage duty-free outlets spread across 7,000m² in the new international terminal at Domodedovo Airport for a period of seven years.

The new duty-free area will be open to passengers in June 2018.

ADB Safegate has received a contract to upgrade gate operations at Terminal 1 of the Incheon International Airport in South Korea.

The deal covers replacement of the airport’s existing aircraft parking system with Safedock Type 1 advanced visual docking guidance system (A-VDGS), and the expansion of its control and monitoring system to facilitate integration services at Terminal 2.

The company will also deliver and install 44 Safedock Type 1 A-VDGS systems at Terminal 1.
