CPB Contractors Lendlease joint venture (JV) and Bechtel have been awarded a contract by WSA Co to build Western Sydney Airport.
The JV will perform initial groundwork at the site by the end of 2018, while Bechtel is responsible for managing airport construction with high safety and quality standards.
The contracts are expected to provide economic benefits for Western Sydney by creating approximately 300 jobs.
Western Sydney Airport will support approximately 11,000 direct and indirect jobs during construction and employ approximately 27,000 personnel during operation.
Groupe ADP has been awarded a contract to conduct the feasibility study of Long Thanh International Airport in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam through its subsidiary ADP Ingénierie.
The feasibility study will be conducted for a period of 14 months.
The initial development phase will involve the construction of a runway, new passenger terminal module, control tower and all support facilities.
Long Thanh International Airport is scheduled to be operational in 2025 and will be able to support an initial capacity of 25 million passengers a year.
KLM and Air France are extending their existing codeshare pact to expand operations to Tahiti.
Pursuant to the extended agreement, KLM will place its KL code on flights operated by Air France on the Los Angeles-Papeete route.
Avianca Brasil has entered a codeshare partnership with Alitalia to provide their passengers with more travel options.
Alitalia will place its AZ code on Avianca Brasil’s 21 national and international flights between Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.
The agreement will allow Alitalia customers to travel to their desired destination in Brazil with a unique ticket, and a single check-in and bag drop.
Comair Limited has renewed its partnership with travel technology solutions provider Sabre Corporation for additional technology solutions.
Sabre will supply passenger reservations, commercial, and operations systems to the South African airline to provide improved service, customer experience and efficiency.
The latest solutions are also expected to reduce operational costs and increase profit for Comair.
