US-based charter airline Berry Aviation has secured the US Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM) Worldwide Airlift Services Program – 135 (WASP-135) contract.

Under the indefinite-delivery indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract, Berry Aviation will provide global Federal Aviation Regulation (FAR) Part 135 airlift services.

Using fixed and/or rotary wing aircraft, the company will perform domestic and international shipments, as well as transport personnel and cargo for the US Department of Defense (DoD) and other federal agencies.

The services under the contract will specifically cover aircrew, ground personnel, supplies, ancillary support services, equipment, air ambulance, medical evacuation, aerial delivery, sling-load cargo operations, delivery of Class I-X supplies, US mail and other services.

The contract has an estimated value of $5.7bn over five years and will expire on 11 November 2024.

Berry Aviation president Stanley Finch said: “Berry Aviation has a long history of working with the DoD and looks forward to the opportunity to continue supporting USTRANSCOM, the warfighter, and other federal agency personnel with multi-role airlift services, along with Berry’s unique specialised airlift capabilities such as Part 135 aerial delivery and night-vision goggle operations.”
