The lounge will feature a complimentary bar and food menu, premium restrooms and shower suites and quiet workspaces. It is scheduled to be operational by early next year.

American Express global benefits and services vice-president and general manager Josh McKay said: “We aim to elevate our card members’ travel experiences and our industry-leading lounge programme is one of our card members’ favourite ways we do this.

“Terminal 4 strives to provide passengers with a superior travel experience, and this lounge is a welcome addition to our existing mix of premium terminal amenities.”

“We look forward to continuing to expand this offering with the Centurion Lounge in JFK and more lounges to come.”

The new lounge will join American Express’ growing network of Centurion Lounges.

More than half of the terminal’s annual passengers are international travellers.
