OneControl, an integrated controller working position, helps control the lighting infrastructure of the advanced ‘Follow the Greens’ operations to enable smoother and safer operations at the airport.

Flughafen Hamburg plans to invest €120m to modernise Apron 1, an area of 330,000m² to serve 60 airlines at the airport.

“The project will run in several phases, supporting the airport in its development plans and facilitating a smooth transition in the individual refurbishment steps.”

ADB Safegate CEO Christian Onselaere said: “The integrated controller working position now adds Apron control solutions to our portfolio offer in Hamburg. The upcoming terminal extension, as well as the refurbishment of the apron surface, will lead to a changing environment; hence support for apron controllers is needed.

OneControl incorporates important air traffic control systems into one user-friendly interface.

The solution integrates multiple functions, from surveillance and airport safety support to routing and guidance service, adds workflow support, displays meteorological data while allowing AGL monitoring and control.

The complete information is displayed on a single screen, removing the need to keep track of multiple screens. It helps to decrease apron controller workload while minimising the risk of incursions and safety incidents.

By combining traditional ATC systems into a single solution, ADB Safegate will be able to provide additional functionality and safety features which would not be possible if systems were separated.

Additionally, the solution serves as a vital data generator for the Airport Collaborative Decision Making (A-CDM) platform and helps to increase predictability and efficiency.
