Facility solutions provider ABM has been awarded a janitorial services contract at LaGuardia Airport’s Terminal B in the US by LaGuardia Gateway Partners, which operates and develops the terminal.

Under the terms of the five-year contract, ABM will be responsible for servicing the existing Terminal B, as well as the new terminal that is set to open through 2022 in a phased manner.

The $4bn redevelopment project for Terminal B was launched by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ) in the US, together with LaGuardia Gateway Partners (LGP) in June 2016.

“We are uniquely positioned to provide best-in-class cleaning for the flying public with our outstanding people.”

Once completed, the new Terminal B will be a 1.3 million square foot facility featuring 35 gates and dual pedestrian bridges that span active aircraft taxi lanes.

ABM Aviation president Don Stephens said: “As an industry leader in facility services and solutions with one of the industry’s largest aviation service portfolios, we are uniquely positioned to provide best-in-class cleaning for the flying public with our outstanding people, innovative standards and materials, and an environmental focus.”

LaGuardia Gateway Partners operations director Marisa Von Wieding said: “Improving the experience for all of our 15 million annual guests is at the core of our mission at LaGuardia Gateway Partners, both in the current Terminal B and in the new Terminal that we are building.

“ABM shares our focus on guest experience and innovation and will meet our high standards in delivering a clean facility for travellers and employees each and every day.”

ABM offers passenger and facility maintenance services such as aircraft and airport cleaning, wheelchair services, catering, parking and transportation, to airports and airlines worldwide, including LaGuardia, John Kennedy International Airport and Newark Liberty International Airport.
