North America extended its dominance for machine learning hiring among airport industry companies in the three months ending December.

The number of roles in North America made up 69.6 per cent of total machine learning jobs – up from 59.6 per cent in the same quarter in 2020.

That was followed by South & Central America, which saw a -1.7 year-on-year percentage point change in machine learning roles.

The figures are compiled by GlobalData, who track the number of new job postings from key companies in various sectors over time. Using textual analysis, these job advertisements are then classified thematically.

That was followed by Hungary (up 5.1 percentage points), the United Kingdom (up 1.2), and Hong Kong (up 0.9).

Some 15.2 per cent of all airport industry machine learning roles were advertised in Atlanta (United States) in the three months ending December - more than any other city.

That was followed by Chicago (United States) with 15.2 per cent, Bengaluru (India) with 6.2 per cent, and San Francisco (United States) with 4.6 per cent.
