Copenhagen Airports (CPH) and Ultra Electronics Airport Systems have reached an important milestone in the delivery of the ATOS (Airport Traffic Operational Services) project with the replacement of the airport operational database at Copenhagen with the UltraDB. Site Acceptance has now been signed off, and UltraDB will soon be operational in the airport in parallel operation with the old database.

CPH and Ultra have worked together in the requirements capture, design, delivery and test of this system, which provides the data core of the airport, and provides consistent and updated information to staff and other IT systems. CPH had specific requirements for task-based management of aircraft on the ground, part of their focus on providing swift and efficient turnaround, and Ultra developed new functionality to deliver this.

The ATOS project is part of the wider Phoenix project underway at CPH, renewing the whole IT provision on the airport. The ATOS project has run since 2010 and UltraDB is due to transition into live operation after a further test phase.
