Jotron has released an innovative Emergency VHF AM handheld radio, Tron TR30 Air.

The radio will be launched at Nor-Shipping in Oslo, Norway.

After an extensive development programme, Jotron is pleased to announce the release of the world’s only emergency VHF AM handheld radio, designed and approved according to the IMO MSC.80(70). The Tron TR30 AIR is also compliant with SOLAS 74 reg. IV/7 and is a mandatory safety emergency radio on any SOLAS passenger, mobile offshore drilling unit (MODU) and polar coded vessel.

The Jotron Tron TR30 AIR is delivered complete with a sealed emergency battery, test battery, hand strap and a holder for the radio and battery. The robust design more than meets the typical maritime requirements. The added advantage with this radio is that it floats with either battery.

An innovative noise cancelling microphone filters background noise and includes a high output loudspeaker. This combination provides clearer communication with air search and rescue services in extreme environments.

The Tron TR30 AIR radio handset can be used with several optional waterproof speaker-microphone accessories for hands-free use during noisy aircraft operations.

A product launch will take place on the 4 June at Nor-Shipping. We welcome everyone from vessel owners and operators, classification society radio surveyors, to GMDSS equipment distributors, to visit stand B01-20 for a demonstration.
