Milan Linate and Milan Malpensa airports operator Società Esercizi Aeroportuali (SEA) has reached a letter of intent (LoI) with easyJet to implement more sustainable management of operations at airports in Milan.
As part of their sustainability initiatives, easyJet and SEA will focus on the use of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).

They will also conduct research into infrastructure requirements for hydrogen propulsion, as well as enhancements in waste management and recycling.
The two companies also agreed to focus on the use of zero-emission ground service equipment.
SEA CEO Armando Brunini said: “SEA has been committed to the environment for a long time, and is well aware that in order to meet the goal of a net-zero air transport by 2050, it is necessary to accelerate and diversify partnerships.
“This agreement with easyJet, the largest airline in Malpensa, will allow us to tackle emissions in multiple areas of our operations with a focus on the introduction of SAFs.”

They agree that efforts are required across the entire value chain, ranging from airports to airlines, to achieve net-zero by 2050.
The two companies will also create a working group that will meet regularly and monitor progress.
