AirTop

AirTop-prodcut-feature-image

This brochure presents AirTOP®, a modular fast-time simulation software suite for airport and airspace operations, designed to help stakeholders model, simulate, and visualize complex gate-to-gate and airport-to-airport scenarios in minutes instead of hours. Developed by industry experts, AirTOP enables airports and air navigation organizations to test infrastructure changes, operational procedures, and traffic demand scenarios before committing to costly construction or procedural updates—supporting safer, more efficient, and more cost-effective decision-making.

AirTOP uses rule-based, multi-agent modeling, where users define inputs and operational rules reflecting local conditions. The platform is widely used by consultants, airports, ANSPs, research institutes, and regulators to evaluate capacity, delays, scheduling impacts, controller workload, and the effects of new procedures. Results can be explored through a single interface with 2D/3D visualization, GIS-enabled mapping, and extensive reporting; outputs can be exported to spreadsheets or SQL databases, and simulations can be turned into videos for stakeholder communication. A built-in project/scenario management approach helps compare alternatives without duplicating data.

A major focus of the brochure is AirTOP’s modular licensing, allowing customers to purchase only what they need and expand over time. Key modules described include:

  • AirTOP Terminal: models passenger, visitor, baggage movement and terminal processes (check-in, security, passport control, baggage claim, retail), assesses resource needs, and evaluates impacts of layout changes or construction disruptions.
  • AirTOP Airside Aircraft: simulates aircraft ground operations (taxi routing, gate allocation, runway sequencing, turnaround, de-icing, DMAN/ground metering) and measures performance indicators such as taxi time, fuel burn, and queues.
  • AirTOP Airside Vehicle: models ground support vehicle operations and safety/performance impacts, including fleet sizing, service road design, GSE allocation, closures, parking, and refueling placement.
  • AirTOP Runway Capacity: analyzes runway throughput and delay under varying conditions (fleet mix, separations, layout, entries/exits, operational modes), including Monte Carlo studies for uncertainty.
  • AirTOP Flight Schedule: supports building future “design day” schedules from traffic patterns and demand inputs for use across simulations.
  • AirTOP TMA/TRACON: simulates approach/departure airspace operations, ATC procedures, sequencing, vectoring/holding, and controller workload.
  • AirTOP En Route: models upper airspace structures and separation procedures for capacity studies, resectorization, route redesign, free-route, and RVSM evaluation.
  • AirTOP Flow Management: combines terminal and en route modeling to support 4D trajectory-based operations, demand-capacity balancing, and large-scale ATFCM studies (noted as used by EUROCONTROL and the FAA).
  • AirTOP WIZer ACC: extends fast-time simulation into real-time operational decision support, integrating live data (traffic, positions, weather) to forecast demand, sector occupancy, complexity, and workload; it provides alerts and interactive “what-if” ATFCM options.

The brochure concludes with vendor contact information (Transoft Solutions), notes on OS compatibility (Windows, macOS, Linux; subscription licenses Windows-only), and pointers to system requirements via QR code and support resources.
