Textron Aviation has secured two contracts at the Asian Business Aviation Conference and Exhibition 2018 (ABACE 2018) for the supply of 52 Cessna Skyhawk aircraft.

Textron will supply 39 Skyhawk aircraft to Hairuo General Aviation Co Ltd under the first contract. The new aircraft will be used by Hairuo General Aviation for general aviation and training purposes.

The second contract will see Textron delivering 13 aircraft to Hubei Sky-Blue International Aviation Academy Co. The company intends to buy 50 more aircraft in the near future.

Financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

Aircraft Maintenance and Engineering Corporation (Ameco) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Lufthansa Technik for the technical co-operation of support for business jets.

The companies intend to offer superior technical support for Chinese aviation companies to extend their market reach in China.

Qantas Airlines has awarded a contract to UTC Aerospace Systems for BR715 engine nacelle maintenance services for its Boeing B717-200 aircraft.

UTC will offer nacelle maintenance services to 20 Boeing B717-200 aircraft, under the contract.

The eight-year contract forms part of UTC’s Prime Solutions, a flexible nacelle maintenance programme of UTC.

Hybrid propulsion and turbine engine start-up Turbotech has secured funding from Safran Corporate Ventures, a subsidiary of Safran.

The investment forms part of the recently held €3m ($4.2m) funding round, which saw the participation of Safran Corporate Ventures and GO CAPITAL.

Both companies will own a stake in Turbotech.

Turbotech intends to use the funds for the development of engines based on regenerative cycle turbines.

Etihad Airways Engineering has partnered with BigRep to look for new ways to develop 3D-printed parts for the aerospace industry.

Parts will be developed according European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) standards.

The components are designed for cabin interiors of Etihad’s new aircraft, as well as retrofit.
