Boeing has received an order for 40 next-generation 737-800 aircraft from GE Capital Aviation Services (GECAS) worth $3bn.
GECAS intends to expand its fleet of aircraft with the new 737s.

Boeing Commercial Airplanes vice-president of sales Marlin Dailey said that GECAS had over 300 next-generation 737s in its fleet with another 105 to be delivered to lessees including the new order.
The 737-800s are single-aisle aircraft that can fly up to 189 passengers in a one-class layout and travel a distance of up to 3,115nm at a speed of Mach 0.78.
