All Nippon Airways (ANA) has received the first of Boeing’s long-delayed 787s Dreamliner aircraft from its plant in Everett, Washington, US.

The Boeing 787 Dreamliner is a twin-engine, twin-aisle aircraft, with half of its body made up of carbon composite materials on a weight basis, and can boast 20% improved fuel efficiency compared with existing models.

The other innovations include larger windows with electrochromic shades, bigger onboard luggage bins and LED lighting.

All Nippon Airways is planning to launch the wide-body aircraft for passenger service on domestic routes from November 2011, connecting Tokyo with Okayama and Hiroshima, Japan, and on flights linking Haneda and Frankfurt, Germany, from January.
