Global developer of operational air traffic management systems Adacel has participated in a trajectory-based operation (TBO) and unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) integration demonstration project.

The global developer participated in the project at the Florida NextGen Test Bed, which was conducted at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona, Florida, US.

Sponsored by the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the project aims to improve existing TBO concepts through research and development.

It also aims to use UAS systems as a platform within Class A airspace to integrate four-dimensional trajectory (4DT) operations in the National Airspace System (NAS).

Adacel has used its Aurora ATM system conflict probe software to work in collaboration with a flight information exchange model (FIXM) environment, which is a data interchange format that supports flight information sharing.

Adacel’s Aurora ATM automation system can be configured to meet present and future requirements, as well as implement the latest CNS / ATM technologies.

The system is operational in a range of airspaces controlled by Iceland, Norway, Fiji, New Zealand, France, Portugal and the US.
