
Bombardier Aerospace has signed a letter of agreement with the Tianjin Airport Economic Area in China to increase aircraft maintenance services in mainland China, marking the first step for the creation of a joint venture for the construction of a maintenance facility in 2016.
The new facility, which will be located in Tianjin, China, will support the maintenance, repair, overhaul, as well as associated activities and services for all Bombardier business jets, and, subject to certain conditions, on Bombardier commercial aircraft.

Under the partnership, the site will be operated using similar processes and procedures that govern the aircraft manufacturer’s wholly-owned service centre network across the world.
Bombardier Aerospace customer services and specialised and amphibious aircraft president Éric Martel said China is an important market and the company is excited and honoured to collaborate with the leaders of Tianjin.

Subject to the receipt of necessary internal, governmental, third-party approvals and other usual conditions, Bombardier Aerospace and the Tianjin Airport Economic Area are planning to sign definitive agreements in 2014.
Bombardier’s aircraft fleet of Learjet, Challenger and Global aircraft has a one-third share of the business jet market in Greater China.
The company’s latest market forecast for the aviation industry estimates 2,420 business aircraft deliveries for China over the next 20 years.
