Oman Air has awarded a contract to Boeing to provide a suite of services for the planned entry into service of its 787 Dreamliner aircraft.
The deal is part of the carrier’s plan to ensure ongoing efficiency and cost savings for its fleet. Oman Air has six 787s on order.

Scope of works under the agreement includes a component services programme, loadable software airplane parts service (LSAP), and airplane health management (AHM).
Boeing said that the services will enable Oman Air to reduce maintenance time and costs, while increasing aircraft availability.
Oman Air chief technical officer Salim Al Kindy said: "Boeing’s industry-leading services will ensure a smooth introduction of our 787s while controlling costs, minimising component maintenance time and optimising our fleet’s performance.
"This falls in-line with our shape and size concept, as we continue to expand our global presence with a young, state-of-the-art fleet of aircraft."

By GlobalDataThe component services programme will provide Oman Air with access to Boeing-managed mission-critical parts, LSAP service will manage software configuration and management tasks on the 787, while AHM will continuously monitor aircraft performance and will notify ground crews of potential maintenance issues.
