The logistics lifting and handling hardware company had previously worked with SCSC to install its first ETV in 2010. The two firms had worked with a plan to allow scalability at the terminal, and agreed to complete that plan when SCSC grew its business.

The work began in 2022 and the new spaces were completed in September, along with the delivery of the second 20-foot elevating transfer vehicle.

the storage system was expanded to include a third and fourth level which added a further 150 storage locations. The programmable logic controller (PLC) was also modernised during this recent project phase, Lödige explained.

“The project was designed for a possible expansion right from the start. That’s why doubling the handling capacity during ongoing operations was particularly seamless here. Especially as we have extensive expertise in the expansion of existing cargo facilities,” said Patrick Ho, of Lödige Industries.
