US-based aerospace manufacturer Textron Aviation has announced an agreement with Hahn Air, a German business and charter airline, as a launch partner for the new Citation CJ3 Gen2 aircraft, which is set to enter service by 2025.

The deal, which was formulated at the Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (NBAA-BACE) in Las Vegas, also features the inclusion of a new Cessna Citation Latitude, which is set to be delivered by 2026.

According to Textron, this will extend its relationship with Hahn Air, which “has been a loyal Citation operator for nearly two decades”.

The Citation CJ3 Gen2 aircraft features a range of 2,040 nautical miles and a maximum payload of 2,135lbs. The extensive range and payload are said to enable pilots to achieve a variety of missions in varied conditions.

Textron Aviation VP of European sales Duncan Van De Velde said: “Hahn Air is an outstanding operator and we are excited to see the company upgrade their aircraft.

“The new Citation CJ3 Gen2 and Citation Latitude perfectly align with Hahn Air’s commitment to delivering a premium service to its customers.”

The Citation CJ3 Gen2 will have regular seating for nine passengers, as well as an option for eight passengers with extra storage.

Alongside this, the Citation Latitude features a four-passenger range of 2,700 nautical miles and a take-off field length of 3,580ft.

Hahn Air general manager and COO Captain Daniel Rudas emphasised the capabilities of the new Cessna jets: “We are proud to continue our long-lasting relationship with Textron Aviation.

“For nearly two decades, we have operated Citation business jets and this new order of the most reliable jets within the Cessna family will ensure we provide our customers with safe and comfortable flights and a memorable and enjoyable experience.”
