Beond’s chief strategy officer Max Nilov said: “Today is the realisation of a dream I first had 20 years ago. I had a dream of this airline, for this aircraft and for this experience for passengers. We have created a premium experience coupled with an operating philosophy that is unmatched.”

The airline’s A319 will be showcased at the Dubai Air Show in mid-November before the first flight from Riyadh to Malé on November 9, followed by Beond’s first flight from Munich on the 15th and Zurich on 17th

During its launch event, Beond also announced routes from Dubai and Milan that will begin in late March 2024, with cities in East Asia, including Hanoi, Seoul and Tokyo, also included on the company’s website as part of the planned routes.

CEO Taro Taskila also thanked the Maldives government and the country’s civil aviation authority for their support of the new airline and said: “Today is but the beginning of our vision for our customers, embodied by this beautiful aircraft—inside and out. We could not be more pleased to showcase it in Maldives, our home and Dubai.”
