Mobatime - ATC Time-Synchronization Equipment and Terminal Clocks and Distributed-Time Systems

Mobatime can offer both time-synchronization equipment for air traffic control (ATC), and distributed time systems and clock displays for airport terminal buildings.

Master clocks and master time centers

While ATC equipment usually must provide very precise time information for a variety of specific IT interfaces, building technology systems are increasingly using modern NTP technology. However, Mobatime is also able to replace obsolete master clock equipment by state-of-the-art master time centers while taking into account existing infrastructure and devices.

Master clock equipment

Mobatime offers a wide range of master clock equipment. In order to meet typical needs of small applications, standardized products such as the EuroTime Center (ETC) and the Net Master Clock (NMC) are available. In addition to that, medium-sized applications can be served with a modular approach using CompuTime Center (CTC).

Time-distribution master clocks

In order to provide solutions for high-end applications, Mobatime has developed a unique main master clock system that has been established in the market as the MasterTime Center (MTC). MTC master clocks can control clocks, synchronize computers to exact times, serve as a time reference on the LAN, switch time-controlled electrical loads, supply time information in various formats and supervise the mains frequency.

The MTC has been optimized to offer the best possible reliability and flexibility, in order to produce specific and flexible system-solutions for time distribution for airports, industries, railways, radio and TV stations, hospitals, power stations and scientific laboratories.

A reliable, internal two-wire bus system, intelligent function modules, centralized operation through user-friendly menus, comprehensive software for system management as well as many other outstanding features distinguish the MTC system from conventional time centers.

Time synchronization system for Ethernet LAN

Time over Ethernet (ToE) is a precise, cost-effective time synchronization system for all Ethernet LAN clients. Considerable advantages can be gained by using networks for time synchronization of clocks, clock systems and timeservers. Installation costs for networked clock systems can be drastically reduced, as the entire network including all components and systems is absolutely synchronized to the same time.

By including a timeserver (e.g. a Mobatime NMC or DTS 4130.timeserver) the exact atomic clock time-signal received via the DCF 77 or GPS signal can be fed directly into the network by means of standardized NTP time protocol.

A further considerable advantage is gained by the option of integrating modern computer master clocks directly into the network. Via Ethernet LAN, TCP/IP and NTP, an almost unlimited number of slave clocks can be synchronized, no additional time signal receivers being necessary. Numerous time-dependent switching and control functions for building system technology and other connected devices can also be included.

Net device manager

An LAN-based time system can be configured and monitored from any computer in the network. Malfunctions, error messages and alarms are signaled via alarm relays, using SNMP traps or e-mails. Using the new Mobatime net device manager (NDM) software, it is even possible to monitor every single NTP slave clock in the system.

Network clock interface

Using the network clock interface (NCI), non-LAN-compatible master clocks or even existing master clocks and slave clocks can also be connected to the LAN. Cabling can be reduced to the plug-in of the individual end units' LAN.
