eVTOL and “Urban Air Mobility” developer Eve Mobility has announced Johann Bordais as its new CEO, taking up the new role in September 2023.
Bordais was voted into the role by the Eve board of directors. He is currently President and CEO of the Services and Support division at Embraer, a Brazilian aircraft manufacturer and the original parent company of Eve.
Eve Mobility, which was floated independently on the New York Stock Exchange in 2022, confirmed its current joint CEOs Andre Stein and Jerry Munro will remain with the company in new roles. The Eve head office is located in Melbourne, Florida.
Bordais had been with Embraer since 2000 and leader of the Services and Support arm since 2016.
“I am very grateful for Johann and his exceptional leadership, relentless focus on the customer experience and excellent results achieved in his 23 years dedicated to the Services & Support area,” said Embraer president and CEO Francisco Gomes Neto.
He was responsible for building the division as the most profitable in Embraer, with reported revenues of $1.27bn in 2022.
Chairman of Eve’s Board Luís Carlos Affonso said: “Now, with the acceleration of our vehicle development and increased focus on operations and entry-into-service of our eVTOL, Johann Bordais’ leadership and experience successfully leading a global business will be an outstanding addition to Eve’s team, helping our mission to create Urban Air Mobility.”
Jerry DeMuro will remain at Eve as executive vice president of Corporate Development through the end of October 2023 to assist Bordais in the transition.
Andre Stein will move to the role of chief strategy officer at Eve.
He will be responsible for defining Eve’s strategy, including commercialisation, growth and the development and execution of launch strategies with Eve’s international partners and operators.
