Construction of the new terminal will help the airport address future passenger volume, reduce congestion and support operational safety.

The terminal building will be a two-storied structure built between the existing departures and the VIP Terminal and Conference centre.

The ground floor of the terminal will be allocated for passenger check-in with a self-service zone, where travellers can check in independently both themselves and their baggage.

It will be linked to the existing passenger terminal via a walkway and feature common public spaces, cafes and other commercial areas, as well as airline offices.

The departure terminal will have two new airbridges, allowing travellers to directly board the aircraft.

It is scheduled to start operations in Q1 2025 and will be of A++ energy class.

Once completed, the new terminal will increase the total area of all passenger terminals at the airport by a third, with passenger throughput growing two-fold from 1,200 per hour to 2,400.

The terminal will cover an area of 14,4000m², enabling Lietuvos Oro Uostai to handle up to 7.8 million passengers annually at the airport.
