Telos Identity Management Solutions (Telos ID) has received a contract from the City and County of Denver to provide designated aviation channelling (DAC) services to process worker background checks at Denver International Airport (DEN) in the US.

The DAC services are Transportation Security Administration (TSA)-approved and aim to boost data integrity and the efficiency of credentialing operations while lowering costs.

DAC services allow the submission of biographic and biometric data for background checks of workers stationed in secure areas of commercial US airports.

Telos ID has been providing DAC services for DEN since 2013. This contract to continue the services will be valid for the next five years.

DAC will be used at the airport along with Telos ID’s identity management system (IdMS).

Telos ID aviation security vice-president Dawn Lucini said: “The DAC services deployment at Denver International Airport is notable for its size and scope, specifically the integration with DEN’s IdMS, enabling efficient biographic, biometric, and Rap Back transmissions.”

Telos ID’s encrypted, web-based DAC services adhere to the requirements of TSA and the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) for managing personal information and biometrics.

The design supports the needs of each airport and air carrier and enables users to perform different functions from one platform.

Lucini added: “Telos ID is the recognised leader in assuring the identities of aviation workers with advanced biometric and enrolment solutions, evidenced by the growing roster of airports and airlines, 90 and counting, that currently use DAC services.

“We are pleased to continue our support of the City and County of Denver and its world-class airport in their efforts to provide excellence in credentialing and vetting services, all while reducing costs and providing superior customer care and flexibility.”

In May, Telos ID received a contract from the Port of Seattle to provide DAC services at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport to process worker background checks.
