Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) in the US has selected Suffolk Construction Company for a facelift of its Terminal C.
Suffolk will work on this 850,000ft² phased project in collaboration with 3i Contracting.

Under the project, the companies will modernise the interior at 18 domestic gates and extend as well as redesign the ticketing and security checkpoints.
Work will also include replacement and deployment of ‘energy-efficient’ glazing and HVAC systems, improvement of concessions and restroom areas, along with the overhaul of passenger boarding bridges and preconditioned air units.
In addition, the partners will focus on marking and guidance systems, jet fuel lines and new baggage handling areas.
Suffolk’s Dallas operations general manager Mark Penny said: “This project will allow us to demonstrate our sophisticated planning and construction processes while also strengthening our partnerships in the Dallas/Fort Worth region. We are honoured DFW has trusted us with this important project for the airport and surrounding community.”

The project’s preconstruction work has started and will encompass thorough micro-phasing and sequential planning.
This will help in ensuring the continuity of passenger service throughout the future construction stages.
Construction and renovation work is scheduled to begin in 2024 and conclude in 2026.
In April, Leonardo US subsidiary Selex ES won a contract from DFW Airport to deploy the AeroBOSS Runway Incursion Warning System (RIWS) to mitigate the risk of runway incursions.
