Mubadala Investment Company unit Strata Manufacturing has signed an agreement to build belly fairings for Pilatus Aircraft’s PC-24 family of twin-engine business jets.

Representing the first step of a long-term collaboration between Pilatus and Strata, the deal aims to support the future production of the complete composite shipset of PC-24 aircraft in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

With the deal, Pilatus intends to achieve its UAE strategy and to embed Strata into its global supply chain.

The deal will also enable Pilatus to boost its portfolio of local manufacturing projects and further advance the Abu Dhabi Vision 2030 objectives.

“As part of the deal, TS&S will service various aircraft engine types from DAE’s range, including the Trent 700, GEnx and the V2500 engine.”

In a separate development, another Mubadala Investment Company subsidiary Turbine Services & Solutions (TS&S) signed a maintenance agreement with Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE).

As part of the deal, TS&S will service various aircraft engine types from DAE’s range, including the Trent 700, GEnx and the V2500 engine.

The company has already repaired one of the V2500 engines at its maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facility in Abu Dhabi under the agreement.

V2500 is a turbofan engine produced by International Aero Engines that primarily powers the Airbus A320 family of aircraft.

The engine family is currently being used to power more than 3,000 aircraft across the globe.
