Engine installation is scheduled to take place next month, while the aircraft is expected to enter service with Widerøe Airlines in April.

“The GTF is the ideal engine to power Embraer’s new E2 aircraft.”

Brazilian aviation authority Agência Nacional de Aviação Civil (ANAC) recently granted its type validation certificate to the PW1900G engines, thereby acknowledging the Part 33 type certification previously granted by the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for the engine.

The ANAC certification also permits engine operation in revenue service in Brazil.

P&W commercial engine programme vice-president Graham Webb said: “The GTF is the ideal engine to power Embraer’s new E2 aircraft.
