Phoenix City Council has voted to forward the Comprehensive Asset Management Plan (CAMP) of Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport in the US to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for review and approval.
During the policy session on 11 June, Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego and the Council approved the airport’s roadmap for the future, which has been designed to be phased incrementally.

Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport, which brings more than $38bn to the economy annually, offers vital opportunities for large and small businesses.
The airport requires better facilities and services to serve the region well into the future and CAMP serves as a roadmap that is needed for it to be able to meet this future demand.
The long-term plan will include the movement of cargo and supporting operations to the north side of the airport to create space for expanded terminal facilities.
In collaboration with the Union Pacific Railroad, the track will be partially trenched and a taxiway bridge built to enable planes to access the relocated cargo operations.

By GlobalDataSpace would also be provided to the Air National Guard 161st Refueling Wing to expand on the south side of Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport.
In order to offer modern facilities to meet customer demand, the airport also needs to renovate some of its older space in Terminal 4.
Phoenix City Council is required to approve each individual project in the plan.
Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego said: “The best infrastructure projects anticipate the needs of a community far into the future.
“Sky Harbor is one of our state’s largest economic engines and, with this unanimous vote, it will continue to drive our economy for generations to come.”
