Solar PV modules provider Upsolar has completed the installation of a 1.7MW solar-electric system at Shanghai Pudong International Airport in China.
The building-integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) project is currently generating enough clean power to serve the needs of the airport’s parking facility and load devices.

Covering an area of 15,000m² between Terminals 1 and 2, the project also serves as a shading structure for the airport’s air-conditioning units.
The installation is part of the airport officials’ plan to enhance its sustainability with the help of renewable energy.
