OSF Aviation has awarded a contract to United Rotorcraft, a division of Air Methods, to complete its four new Eurocopter EC145 aircraft.

Under the contract, United Rotorcraft will design, manufacture and obtain US Federal Aviation Authority approvals for the medical interior and avionics suite, plus exterior paint.

The medical interior design of the aircraft will include a next-generation machined aluminium floor that will offer maintenance accessibility, flexibility of reconfiguration and easy-to-clean features.

The new configuration will have multi-configurable recessed window well mounts for medical support equipment, facilitating low-profile storage and enhanced visibility for patient care.

The aircraft are expected to be delivered to OSF during the first half of 2012.
