B/E Aerospace has secured a deal to supply its Aspire and Meridian economy-class seating platforms to United Airlines.
The Aspire platform will be used in the airline's 787-10, A350 and 777-200 retrofit aircraft, while Meridian will be equipped in the next-generation 737 MAX 9 fleet.

Compared to the existing seats, the Aspire product line offers additional space with an increased seat width.
The seating line incorporates a patented advanced kinematic mechanism, extra underseat storage and various passenger amenities, including new generation Panasonic high-definition monitor for in-flight entertainment and a mid-level literature pocket.
To be launched on United’s new 737 MAX 9 fleet, B/E Aerospace’s lightweight Meridian seating platform is specifically designed for narrow-body aircraft.
Equipped with personal computer (PC) power units on all seat assemblies, Meridian features an in-back tablet holder to accommodate personal devices.

By GlobalDataBoth Aspire and Meridian platforms will feature United’s latest brand themes and styling developed by PreistmanGoode and B/E Aerospace’s Design Group.
B/E Aerospace president and COO Werner Lieberherr said: “Our collaborative and customised work with United Airlines on these latest, new-generation Economy products are being tailored for United by B/E Aerospace to incorporate industry-leading seat amenities, maximised passenger living space, B/E’s proprietary comfort system and the latest United Airlines cabin brand initiatives.”
Last August, B/E Aerospace was contracted by an undisclosed airline to equip its new-buy Boeing 777 aircraft.
The $450m deal also includes an option to outfit additional wide-body aircraft.
